Our Mission

Our mission at Moses Lake Christian Church is to glorify God and make disciples of Christ. We do this because God, from of his great mercy and love, sent his only Son to die for our sins and raised Him from the dead and we too are raised with Him so that we might have eternal life. In obedience to Christ’s teachings to love God, love others, and disciple the nations, our mission extends in three directions:

  • Reaching up in worship
  • Reaching in with discipleship and fellowship
  • Reaching out with the gospel


We are devoted to fostering a welcoming, grace-filled environment where everyone—regardless of background or life stage—can explore their faith, experience authentic community, and discover their God-given purpose through Christ.

Who We Are

Moses Lake Christian Church (MLCC) is a non-denominational, independent Christian church. This means we have no formal governing body outside of our congregation and use the Bible as our sole guide for faith and practice — “no creed but Christ, and no book but the Bible.”


We work alongside other churches in Moses Lake to serve our community as one body of Christ. MLCC is an active member of the Moses Lake Ministerial Association and was involved in starting Serve Moses Lake, supporting local benevolent needs through Christian partnerships.


Our heart is for the Kingdom of God to flourish in this city and to the ends of the earth, and so we prioritize unity amongst all believers who acknowledge Christ’s saving work and His Kingship.

  • How should I dress?

    MLCC isn't the beach nor is it the National Prayer Breakfast. Those are basic guidelines. Swimsuits aren’t appropriate and formal attire is not expected. On any given Sunday it would be normal to see someone in shorts and flip-flops (in the summer), or jeans, and you might catch a glimpse of someone wearing a tie. We want you, and those around you, to be comfortable with your clothing choices.

  • What will happen when I get there?

    Someone will greet you at the door to welcome you. They will offer you a flyer that tells you something about the upcoming events at MLCC and a welcome packet that gives an overview of who we are if you are a first time guest. They will also explain how our children’s ministry and nursery works if those ministries would be helpful to you. You are welcome at MLCC to keep your children with you throughout the service if you choose to do so.

  • The Service

    The order of our service can change around at times, but normally we’ll open up with a song, welcome and scripture reading, and then a couple more songs. For our 9:00 a.m. service nursery is available (0-3 years). For our 11:00a.m. service, the nursery and up to 5th grade Sunday School is available. When you arrive, kids will check in and then go directly to class.


    After worship, we move to the Offering and then the Lord’s Supper (Communion, Eucharist). We participate in the Lord’s Supper each week as the central part of our worship service because the Cross of Christ is central in our faith. You are welcome to participate with us or not in the Lord’s Supper (You can read a description of the Lord’s Supper in the “What we Believe” section of our website).


    There will be a short announcement time highlighting a few key upcoming events and then someone will spend 30-40 minutes exploring a text of scripture or faith topic with us.


    We end our service with offering. It is not our expectation, nor our intention, for those who are guests with us to put money in the offering bag as it comes by. If you would like to, and choose to do so, you are welcome, but you will not be pressured on this topic.

  • The Music

    At MLCC we have a heart to do music well, though you will not find it to be a professional or performance oriented show. We appreciate and sing music that is contemporary and we also appreciate and sing the ancient, or traditional, hymns of the church. Sometimes we give the older songs a newer feel, and sometimes we sing them just like they were written. If you listen to Christian radio then you will hear and be invited to sing familiar songs.


    The typical worship band that you will see on a Sunday morning will be comprised of a leader, a couple acoustic guitars, bass, drums, piano, a couple vocalists, and percussion when our percussionist is available.

  • After the Service

    We will complete our service with a benediction and then you are free to collect your children (if you have them) and join us for coffee, cookies, and conversation in the foyer. If you want to bolt… no one will chase you… probably.

  • The Lord’s Supper

    Communion

    At Moses Lake Christian Church, we participate in the "Lord's Supper," "Communion," or "The Eucharist" each Sunday, following the pattern of the "First Century Church". (Acts 20:7; Acts 2:42. Who Can Participate? You need not be a member or regular attendee at Moses Lake Christian Church to participate. Christ invites you if you are part of the New Covenant in Him. Christ shared this supper with his disciples before his death saying, "This bread is my body broken for you, eat it in remembrance of me. And this cup is my blood of the New Covenant poured out for you, drink it in remembrance of me."


    The Eucharist

    Lord's Supper in the New Testament: Matthew 26:26-30, Mark 14:22-26 Luke 22:14-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Eucharist: anglicized form of the Greek noun eucharistia (Matt. 26:26-27) which signified "gratitude," "thanks," or "praise offering."Remembrance: from the Greek word anamnesis (I Cor. 11:24) which is "to bring to remembrance," or "to make present." Sacrament: An outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace. MLCC does not hold to the doctrine of transubstantiation, that the bread and cup actually (physically) become the flesh and blood of Jesus, but we embrace the mystery of Christ's presence.

  • The Purpose Of God

    We affirm our belief in the one-eternal God, Creator and Lord of the world, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who governs all things according to the purpose of his will. He has been calling out from the world a people for himself, and sending his people back into the world to be his servants and his witnesses, for the extension of his kingdom, the building up of Christ's body, and the glory of his name. We confess with shame that we have often denied our calling and failed in our mission, by becoming conformed to the world or by withdrawing from it. Yet we rejoice that even when borne by earthen vessels the gospel is still a precious treasure. To the task of making that treasure known in the power of the Holy Spirit we desire to dedicate ourselves anew.

  • The Authority & Power of the Bible

    We affirm the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of both Old and New Testament Scriptures in their entirety as the only written word of God, without error in all that it affirms, and the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We also affirm the power of God's word to accomplish his purpose of salvation. The message of the Bible is addressed to all men and women. For God's revelation in Christ and in Scripture is unchangeable. Through it the Holy Spirit still speaks today. He illumines the minds of God's people in every culture to perceive its truth freshly through their own eyes and thus discloses to the whole Church ever more of the many-colored wisdom of God.

  • The Uniqueness & Universality of Christ

    We affirm that there is only one Saviour and only one gospel, although there is a wide diversity of evangelistic approaches. We recognize that everyone has some knowledge of God through his general revelation in nature. But we deny that this can save, for people suppress the truth by their unrighteousness. We also reject as derogatory to Christ and the gospel every kind of syncretism and dialogue which implies that Christ speaks equally through all religions and ideologies. Jesus Christ, being himself the only God-man, who gave himself as the only ransom for sinners, is the only mediator between God and people.


    There is no other name by which we must be saved. All men and women are perishing because of sin, but God loves everyone, not wishing that any should perish but that all should repent. Yet those who reject Christ repudiate the joy of salvation and condemn themselves to eternal separation from God. To proclaim Jesus as "the Savior of the world" is not to affirm that all people are either automatically or ultimately saved, still less to affirm that all religions offer salvation in Christ. Rather it is to proclaim God's love for a world of sinners and to invite everyone to respond to him as Saviour and Lord in the wholehearted personal commitment of repentance and faith. Jesus Christ has been exalted above every other name; we long for the day when every knee shall bow to him and every tongue shall confess him Lord.
